THE VICTORY OVER DEATH

ISAIAH 25:8

God will swallow up death in victory!

And the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces!

And the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth.

The Lord hath spoken.

HOSEA 13:14

I will ransom them from the power of the grave.

I will redeem them from death.

O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction.

Repentance shall be hid from Mine eyes.

    I THESSALONIANS 4

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 Moreover, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so we believe that God by means of Jesus will bring those who have fallen asleep to be with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the lord shall not precede those who are asleep.

16 For the lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I CORINTHIANS 15

51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:

Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our lord Jesus Christ.

VERSE 26

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

     II CORINTHIANS 4:14 – 5:4

14 Knowing that He Who raised the lord Jesus [from the dead] will also raise us and present us with you alongside of Jesus.

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many abound to the glory of     God.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish [is perishing], yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
