Shadow - NT: skiá – 7x OT: tsêl – 49x

As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work. JOB 7:2

For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow. JOB 8:9

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. JOB 14:1-2

Shadow of Death - OT: tsalmâveth – 18x [10x in Job]

Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me! I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.
Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little, before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death; A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness. JOB 10:18-22

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this. In Whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. JOB 12:9-10,22

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth? Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all. Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof? JOB 38:16-19

The Shadow of The Almighty

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. PSALM 91:1-4

Shew Thy marvelous lovingkindness, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand those who put their trust in Thee from those that rise up against them.
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of Thy wings. PSALM 17:7-8

How excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Thy house; and Thou shalt make them drink of the river of Thy pleasures. For with Thee is the fountain of life: in Thy light shall we see light. PSALM 36:7-9

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in Thee: yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth. PSALM 57:1-3

Because Thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after Thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me.
PSALM 63:7-8

Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
ISAIAH 9:1-2
