It takes hours of mounting, pressing, hammering and remounting the leather to distribute it evenly over the last and remove all the folds and wrinkles. This particular wholecut is made using calfskin,

using a technique known as 'Intrecciato'

along with a hint of bordeaux on the toe

which is hand dyed to create a 'aged cognac' patina

The hand dyeing process of the crust leather creates an inimitable depth of colour and patina

it is a construction technique reminiscent of the finest and most labor intensive shoe constructions
