Sold (1955) Steiff. Ruskin 1907Ruskin a rare Steiff teddy bear with head movement, with beige mohair, brown backed glass eyes, brown stitched nose, mouth and claws, tail operated rotating head mechanism, cream mohair front, jointed limbs with felt pads 10in. (25. 5cm.) high (slight wear) this bear was made only in 1955 1956 in 7 and 10 inches, 3539 examples were made during this time Twist his tail and his head turns A really rare little Steiff and on the wish lists of many Steiff

'Mr Grumpy' is a Chiltern Hugmee from the 1940/50s

so does not turn

He was in a bad way

He is is wood wool filled which dates him to 1920

A previous owner writes "When Jack first came to me he was in a very sorry state so I gave him a little loving restoration to try and bring him back to life

and he doesn't seem to mind either and looks quite content by the lovely smile on his face

His pads all seem to be original and is really good condition but he does have a small repair just about his left foot
