The lid is carved out of solid 3 4 inch Walnut and the handle is secured with a single 1 2 inch oak dowel. Hand crafted in a backyard shop with locally harvested milled and reclaimed lumber. Constructed using joinery and dowels; lacking hinges, clasps, or any mechanical fasteners, its a very stout and durable piece. Finished with a
