The song says, “His way is best. I’ve proved by test.” The Scriptures say, “Teach me Thy way, O Lord. I will walk in Thy truth.” God’s way is the best. He wants us to learn and to know His way.  We simply must be humble enough to receive and believe His instruction rather than conclude on our own how He is or what He does. His “ways” are very much different than our ways.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.    ISAIAH 55:8-9

How high are the heavens? Well then…His ways are that much higher! We must find that which is written in His Word about Him to get to know His ways in truth.

I recently attended a memorial service for a wonderful saint of God. The minister read Psalm 116. He paused at verse 15 to emphasize its truth, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Rather than explain “precious” in the sense of “costly” or “weighty”, he implied its meaning as “valuable” or “splendid”. He then suggested that God had permitted her sickness so she could be home with Him sooner. That is NOT the way of God.

The thinking that you can “go to heaven” at the moment of your death is the result of wrong doctrinal teaching that is continually taught in Christian denominations. If that is God’s way, then why did He wait three days and three nights to raise His own son from the dead? And if God’s “way” was to raise His son from the dead, why would others receive a different treatment and have some “direct” route upon death?

The apostle Paul knew God’s way and boldly taught the truth regarding the victory over death for man that God has clearly made known in His Word.

Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the nations.                                                                                                                                                       ACTS 26:22-23

Jesus Christ was “the first” that God raised from the dead. All after him will also be raised just as he was—with a new body and eternal life! This is God’s way to get us to “heaven”. His Word plainly teaches this. God wants us to have the comfort of the knowledge of the truth of His promise. His way is best !
